These bricks are not refractory bricks, only decorative bricks. It can be cut to fit your design requirements. Normally 1/4″ to 3/8″ joints is used between bricks. They can be used flat side exposed or thick side exposed. Quantity needed per square foot will vary.
If using small edge facing up, then quantity per square foot will very compared if you are using large face showing.
